KolLabs
The Details
Overview
KolLabs is a collaborative production framework built to help filmmakers, writers, and actors create new work together.
It connects creatives with aligned goals and combines their funding, resources, and talent under a structured system that guides each project from concept to completion.
This page outlines how the program works — how collaborators are paired, how projects are developed and funded, and how everything moves through to a finished piece of work.
THE PROCESS
KolLabs runs on a clear and intentional workflow — built to protect creativity, maintain structure, and make sure each project that begins has a clear path to completion.
Every stage is designed to keep collaboration organized, expectations defined, and the production process supported from start to finish.
Connect
The process begins by pairing creatives who share similar goals, tone, and creative direction.
Develop & Greenlight
After the concept is approved, the project enters a short development phase focused on refining the story, creative direction, and logistics.
Produce
Once a project is greenlit, it moves into production — beginning with pre-production and continuing through post.
KolLabs facilitates the creative and organizational process, while Koncept 92 handles the production logistics, coordination, and oversight that bring the project to life.
Deliver
The delivery phase is about bringing the finished work into the world.
Once collaborators find potential matches on the KolLabs roster, they meet for a short call or video chat — a quick vibe check to ensure personalities and visions align.
If everyone agrees to move forward, the group holds an Initial Project Meeting, joined by KolLabs, to discuss key creative and logistical details:
Desired budget contributions
Film length, genre, and general tone
Feasibility within the program’s production framework
During this meeting, the group brainstorms achievable concepts and KolLabs reviews them to ensure each idea can be produced realistically within scope and standards.
Once approved, these parameters become the foundation for development — defining what’s possible as the project moves forward.
This stage includes several structured meetings:
One-on-One Sessions
Writer & Director collaborate on story, tone, and new script revisions.
Director & Actor explore character, performance approach, and mood.
Optional meetings may include KolLabs producers for logistical alignment.
These sessions allow the creative team to refine the project before presentation.
Greenlight Meeting
In this meeting, everything is confirmed in detail, and the Greenlight Agreement is finalized.
The agreement includes:
Final script and approved concept
Budget contributions from each collaborator
Scope and production limitations (locations, shoot length, crew size, etc.)
Creative authority boundaries (who has control over what)
Timeline for prep, shoot, and post
Post-production plan (revisions, delivery specs, etc.)
Optional additions (festival plans, BTS, promotional materials, etc.)
Distribution & release plan under the KolLabs platform
Liability and safety parameters
Ownership and rights terms (outlined in a separate section but agreed here)
Once the agreement is signed, the project officially becomes greenlit and moves into production planning.
Pre-Production
This phase focuses on building the foundation for a smooth and professional shoot.
Koncept 92 oversees all production logistics while maintaining open communication with KolLabs and the creative collaborators.
During pre-production:
The budget is broken down and allocations are reviewed with the team.
Shooting dates are locked and a production timeline is created.
Crew, equipment, and locations are secured.
Casting is finalized if additional talent is needed.
Any creative or practical needs such as props, wardrobe, or set dressing are sourced.
Collaborators are encouraged to be active during this phase — assisting with creative input, outreach, or sourcing when possible.
The more they participate, the greater potential for efficient use of the shared budget.
However, all final decisions and approvals are made by Koncept 92 to ensure safety, scope, and professional standards are upheld.
Production
When the shoot begins, Koncept 92 manages all on-set operations and execution.
KolLabs remains involved to ensure that the creative vision stays aligned and that collaboration continues smoothly.
During production:
Koncept 92 producers are present on set to oversee schedule, safety, and scope.
The director and cast focus on creative execution.
Any changes beyond the agreed scope are reviewed and approved by Koncept 92 as Change Orders, with costs covered by whoever initiates them.
This ensures every project is executed efficiently, fairly, and at a consistent production standard.
Post-Production
After the shoot, the project transitions into post-production under Koncept 92’s supervision.
This includes editing, color, sound design, and finishing — either handled in-house or by approved post specialists.
Collaborators may participate if they have relevant post-production experience, such as editing or sound design, which can help reduce costs.
All workflows must remain under the oversight of Koncept 92 to ensure technical quality and adherence to the agreed post plan.
Revisions are managed within the structure outlined in the Greenlight Agreement, keeping the process clear and efficient.
Once post-production is complete, all final materials are distributed to the collaborators — including the finished film, behind-the-scenes content, and any promotional assets created during the process.
Each project is then released publicly on Koncept 92’s YouTube channel as part of the KolLabs collection.
The goal is simple — to get work seen.
KolLabs was built to make sure projects don’t get stuck in development or buried after completion, but instead find an audience and live beyond the production.
Collaborators are free to share their work anywhere — portfolios, social media, or personal sites — once the project is released.
If a festival run is planned and agreed upon beforehand, the public release will wait until that process finishes, but every KolLabs project ultimately becomes part of the Koncept 92 channel.
This phase may also include wrap parties, screenings, or showcases with other KolLabs films, bringing the community together to celebrate the finished work and connect in person.
From spark to screen, each KolLab carries its vision all the way through.
Creative Roles
Each collaborator contributes something essential, and every role carries its own creative responsibility.
This structure keeps the process fair, balanced, and focused, allowing each person to do their best work while respecting the boundaries of others.
Koncept 92’s role is to support this balance — stepping in when needed to ensure fairness, protect boundaries, and help the team find a resolution if creative opinions differ.
Opposing opinions are a natural part of collaboration, but with the right structure, it becomes a way to strengthen the work rather than slow it down.
In addition to their creative positions, all main collaborators also serve as executive producers on their project.
This title represents both creative ownership and shared responsibility.
It means that each person has a voice throughout the process — from development through delivery — while still respecting the creative and logistical boundaries agreed upon before greenlight.
Every decision is made through collaboration, transparency, and fairness, ensuring that the project moves forward as a true collective effort.
Every KolLab is a shared creation — a space where individual voices come together to make something bigger than any one person.
While ideas and feedback are encouraged throughout development, once the project is greenlit, each role holds its creative ground.
This ensures that every contributor is respected for what they bring, and that decisions remain clear once production begins.
KolLabs was built on the belief that every project made here belongs to everyone involved — no one’s voice outweighs another’s.
We’re all creating something together.
Each KolLab brings together key creative voices.
Select a role below to learn how each contributes to the process.
-
The writer shapes the foundation — the world, characters, and dialogue that bring the story to life.
They have full creative authority over the written material before the greenlight, and once approved, the script becomes the blueprint for production.
Writers are welcome to stay creatively involved throughout, offering insight on story and tone, but once filming begins, the director leads how that story is interpreted on screen. -
The director translates the script into vision and performance.
They make the creative decisions on set, guiding actors, visuals, and pacing to bring the story to life. While collaboration is always encouraged, the director’s role is to unify all elements into a single perspective — working closely with the team while maintaining clarity of direction.
-
Actors are the living heart of each project.
They shape the emotion and authenticity of the story through performance, helping the audience connect to the film’s intent.
Actors collaborate closely with the director to understand tone and character, while staying true to their interpretation of the role.
-
Koncept 92 serves as the production company and the foundation behind each KolLab.
Our job is to facilitate the process, maintain structure, and ensure that every project is safe, achievable, and fair to everyone involved.
When creative opinions conflict, we step in to find resolution that respects all sides — not by choosing favorites, but by protecting the collaboration as a whole.
Each KolLab is shaped by that balance.
It’s a system designed to let every contributor feel invested, heard, and part of something greater than their individual role — where creative collaboration meets shared ownership.
Together, we create, refine, and complete — every KolLab is built to move forward as one.
Funding
KolLabs operates through shared contribution — where creatives combine their funding to make projects possible at a higher level than they could achieve alone.
Each collaborator contributes equally toward the project’s total budget.
This model keeps things fair, transparent, and simple — everyone invests the same amount, and everyone shares in what that investment creates.
Funding covers all aspects required to bring the project to life: crew, equipment, locations, post-production, and the full logistical support handled by Koncept 92.
Budgets are structured carefully to ensure every dollar goes toward what’s seen on screen.
A portion of each budget is allocated as a production fee.
This covers essential company costs such as insurance, workers’ compensation, taxes, administrative work, and the operational needs required to facilitate the project. It also helps the production company remain sustainable while supporting each KolLab from start to finish.
The collaborative nature of KolLabs allows for greater creative flexibility — higher production value, access to stronger teams, and the ability to make work that feels elevated without losing efficiency.
Payments
Payment is made in three stages:
50% upfront once the project is approved and begins pre-production.
25% after the completion of physical production.
25% upon the completion of post-production and final delivery.
All budgets and payments are managed by Koncept 92 to maintain full transparency and accountability throughout the process.
Change Order
If a collaborator requests something outside the agreed-upon scope — such as new scenes, extended shoot days, or specialty gear — it will be reviewed by Koncept 92 as a Change Order.
These additional costs may be covered by the initiating party or shared equally among collaborators, but only once all parties agree and sign an updated cost agreement approved by Koncept 92.
Number of Collaborators
Adding additional collaborators can expand the total budget and the possibilities of what can be created.
Each new collaborator contributes equally, maintaining the shared structure and fairness of the program while allowing projects to grow in scale, ambition, and creative potential.
By combining resources and working as one, every KolLab transforms collective contribution into something tangible — made together, seen together, and owned together.
Ownership
KolLabs is structured to keep ownership clear, fair, and respectful of every contributor’s work.
The writer keeps ownership of their original script or concept.
If the project ever grows into a larger work — such as a feature, series, or expanded narrative — the writer retains the right to develop it further.
The director of the short receives first right of refusal to direct any future adaptation based on the material created within the KolLab.
Koncept 92 retains ownership of the produced project itself — the completed film and all production assets created through the process.
This ensures that the work is protected, properly managed, and released in a consistent way across the KolLabs platform.
All main collaborators are granted the right to use the finished project and approved materials for personal portfolios, reels, websites, and social media once the film is publicly released.
Public release timing is coordinated through Koncept 92 to maintain a unified launch and to support the goals of the program.
If the project generates any revenue — through streaming, licensing, festivals, supplemental distribution, or other channels — the earnings are divided equally among the main collaborators and Koncept 92.
This split reflects the shared financial and creative contribution of each person involved.
Ownership remains intact for all collaborators, even if someone steps away after completion.
Everyone who contributed keeps their credit, their rights, and their place within the project’s history.
Clear rights, shared recognition, and a structure built to protect every contributor — ownership in KolLabs always reflects the collaboration behind the work.

Additional project assets and goals
KolLabs is built around one central goal — to complete a finished project.
Everything beyond that core film is considered an addition.
These optional elements can enhance the experience and expand how the project is shared, but they are not required to move a KolLab project forward.
Additions may include:
• Behind-the-scenes photography or video
• Promotional materials such as posters or trailers
• Expanded festival submissions
• Additional editing or alternate cuts
• Extra production elements outside the original scope
These options can be discussed early in the process and included in the project’s initial budget if the collaborators choose.
Costs can be covered by the collaborator requesting the addition or shared equally if everyone wants it.
All additions must be approved in advance since they affect scheduling, budgeting, and workflow.
Additions exist to support the collaborators’ goals, offering more ways to present and celebrate the final piece while keeping the program focused on what matters — completing meaningful, high-quality work.
Additions help enrich the final experience, chosen with intention and shaped to support the story, while the heart of every KolLab remains the completed project.
STANDARDS
KolLabs is built on a set of standards that protect every collaborator, the crew, and the work being created.
These standards ensure that each project is made responsibly, safely, and with a level of care that reflects the values of the program.
Every project must stay within realistic expectations.
KolLabs will never cut corners, lower working conditions, or create unsafe situations in order to force a concept to fit into a budget or timeline.
If an idea requires more resources than available, we re-shape it into something achievable or expand the collaboration to support it.
Crew members are hired at fair rates, and all working environments must remain safe and respectful.
If a collaborator suggests or attempts something that jeopardizes safety or conflicts with the approved scope, it will not be allowed to move forward.
Professionalism and communication are essential.
Creative disagreements are normal and expected, but they must be handled constructively.
KolLabs promotes an environment where differing ideas are discussed openly and respectfully, with the shared goal of finding the strongest version of the project.
Collaborators are encouraged to be involved throughout development, pre-production, and post, but all contributions must be approved to ensure they fit within the agreed-upon scope.
This keeps the project organized, balanced, and fair to everyone participating.
These standards exist to protect the collaboration, uphold the integrity of the work, and ensure a positive experience for everyone involved — from the first idea to the final release.
Standards keep every KolLab grounded, safe, and focused — allowing the work to grow without compromising the people who make it.
Contingencies
KolLabs is built to keep projects moving, even when unexpected situations come up.
These contingencies exist to protect fairness, support collaborators, and help each project reach completion whenever possible.
If a collaborator chooses to step away after the project is greenlit, they may withdraw with a refund based on their share of what has not yet been spent.
This is never a penalty — it simply covers the production costs that have already gone toward the work.
The project will pause until that role is filled, and once a new collaborator joins and all parties approve, the project can continue under the same structure.
If all collaborators decide to end the project, everyone receives a refund of their remaining share, minus only the expenses already paid.
All costs are shared equally and transparently so no one carries more than their fair portion.
When creative disagreements arise, the first priority is always to resolve the situation through conversation, collaboration, and clarity.
Most issues can be mended by revisiting expectations, reviewing the plan, or adjusting communication.
If a disagreement cannot be resolved, Koncept 92 will step in and make the final decision in the fairest way possible, based on what was agreed upon and what best supports the project as a whole.
If a collaborator attempts to move the project outside the approved boundaries — such as new scenes, added locations, or decisions that create delays or increased costs — those changes must be reviewed first.
Any additional cost follows the Change Order process and is covered by the initiating collaborator or shared if everyone agrees.
Safety, professionalism, and respect are non-negotiable.
If a collaborator’s actions threaten the safety of the crew, create an unsafe environment, or disrupt the process, KolLabs and Koncept 92 may remove that collaborator to protect the project and the people involved.
Refunds in this scenario follow the same rule — based only on their share of what has not yet been spent.
These contingencies are not restrictions.
They are a safety net — designed to keep the collaboration fair, stable, and focused on completing meaningful work even when challenges arise.
